Job Description:
We’re supporting a well-known UK charity in their search for an Interim Information Security Manager to provide hands-on technical support and relieve pressure on the security function during a busy period.
* Location: Fully remote (occasional travel if required)
* Duration: 3–6 months
* Start Date: ASAP
* Days: 3–5 days per week (flexible)
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the first point of contact for SOC escalations, security incidents, and investigations.
* Investigate and resolve security alerts, threats, and vulnerabilities using tools such as Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and Darktrace.
* Review and respond to security questionnaires from suppliers and vendors.
* Support the small internal security team with day-to-day operational tasks, providing guidance and unblocking issues.
* Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to maintain a secure environment.
* Provide input into processes, documentation, and security best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven hands-on experience in SOC operations, incident response, and technical investigations.
* Strong familiarity with Microsoft security tools (Defender, Sentinel, etc.).
* Experience reviewing security questionnaires and identifying risk in supplier responses.
* Confident working in a 70% hands-on, 30% light team support capacity — this is a delivery-focused role, not a compliance or strategy position.
* Available to start immediately or at short notice.
