Sanctuary Personnel are recruiting for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (Band 7–8a) to join a specialist PTSD psychology service based in Ipswich. This service provides dedicated mental health support to police officers and staff and is widely recognised for its high clinical standards, strong leadership and commitment to staff wellbeing.
This role is suitable for both newly qualified psychologists and experienced clinicians who want to develop specialist expertise in trauma-focused therapy within a supportive and forward-thinking service.

The RoleDeliver evidence-based psychological interventions for PTSDComplete clinical assessments, formulations and treatment plansProvide mostly face-to-face therapy with some remote sessionsWork within a specialist trauma-focused treatment model (full training provided)Maintain high-quality clinical records and adhere to governance standardsContribute to service development and quality improvement initiativesAttend other service locations when required
Person SpecificationEssential RequirementsHCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist or Counselling PsychologistStrong interest in trauma psychology and PTSD treatmentExcellent clinical assessment and formulation skillsAbility to work independently and within a multidisciplinary teamWillingness to undergo police vetting (no prior clearance required)Flexibility to work predominantly on-site and travel as needed
Desirable ExperienceTraining in trauma-focused therapies such as EMDR or TF-CBTExperience working with trauma, emergency services, or high-risk populationsPrevious experience delivering PTSD or trauma interventions
