Midday Welfare Assistant – Part-Time
Specialist SEN Setting | Street, Somerset | Immediate Start
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Midday Welfare Assistant to join a highly regarded specialist provision in Street, Somerset. This role is available for an immediate start and offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference each day.
The setting supports pupils aged 4 to 18 with a range of additional needs including autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), communication and interaction needs, sensory differences and complex behavioural needs. The school is recognised for its nurturing culture, personalised curriculum and strong partnership with families. Staff are valued members of a collaborative and supportive team, all working towards helping pupils gain essential life skills.
The Role
Hours: 11am to 2pm, Monday to Friday (term time)
* Supervising and supporting pupils during lunch
* Assisting with personal care in a dignified manner
* Encouraging positive social interaction and safe play
* Promoting independence and life skills
* Supporting classroom routines around the lunchtime period
* Maintaining a safe and tidy environment
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 6 months’ childcare experience, particularly with SEN pupils
* A patient, enthusiastic and flexible approach
* Strong communication skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
* Reliability and good organisation

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
