Wild Wood Club Playworker
Permanent – 52 weeks per year
9.75 hours per week (Additional hours may be available from time to time)
Salary Grade B (£24,413‑£24,796 FTE – actual salary £6,433‑£6,534)
Hours of Work During Term Time: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 3:00 pm‑6:15 pm
Hours of Work During Holiday Time: Varying hours; club open 8:00 am‑6:00 pm
Job Purpose
The purpose of the job is to provide quality out‑of‑school educational play for children aged 4 – 11 in a safe and stimulating environment within the ethos of the school.
Responsibilities
* Support children aged 4 – 11 through planned and spontaneous play activities.
* Use a variety of strategies to create purposeful play environments and promote good behaviour.
* Plan and facilitate indoor and outdoor activities, including caring for the club’s learning resources.
* Work responsibly with food, where required, and support healthy eating practices.
* Maintain accurate attendance records and provide feedback to school management.
* Assist with the safe transport of children to and from the club as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ2 (or equivalent) or higher qualification linked to childcare.
* Appropriate experience working with and supporting children.
* Approachable manner and good communication skills.
* Ability to confidently and competently lead groups of children in a range of activities.
* Willingness to take food hygiene and cooking training if required.
