We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it. The Asset Maintenance Engineer role is a key part of the Asset Management Team based at the ultra-modern 150 megawatt (MW) Brigg Energy Park. With a combined capacity of 150MW, Bring Energy Park now provides the electricity network with resilience, facilitating the continued expansion of clean, green renewable energy the UK needs, and is capable of powering around 100,000 homes during periods of peak demand, such as mornings and early evenings. The Asset Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance of all plant equipment, buildings and site for safe and efficient operations. Responsible for the electrical maintenance in repairing, maintaining and installing electrical systems and equipment in a plant environment. You will need to understand the responsibilities of plant operator and assume those duties during their absence. You will assist Technicians as required and seek to optimise plant efficiencies / production. You will take on emergency response duties as a part of the Asset Incident Control Team and ensure the safety and operational availability of the power generation portfolio is maintained. Key accountabilities: Plan and schedule the delivery of safe high-quality maintenance work Ensure compliance with discipline specific legislation Provide specialist technical discipline input into operational risk management Lead improvement initiatives and management of change Participate in root cause analysis to resolve safety & reliability issues Lead and manage a multi-discipline team of staff technicians, maintaining their competencies and personal development Manages third party contractors on board the installation Provide people with information needed to perform their assigned roles competently and effectively Role model safety culture improvement and demonstration of Critical Organisational Behaviors Incident Management Team member. The Person: ONC/HNC qualification or equivalent in an Engineering discipline Specific to Electrical and Instrument Disciplines: High Voltage electrical switching authorisation COMPEX certificate (TECH-300-EEHA-01, EX01 through to EX04) Electricity at Work Regulations (TECH-300-EAWR-01) 18th Edition of the IEE Wiring regulations (TECH-300-IEE-01) Specific to Mechanical Disciplines: COMPEX certificate (TECH-300-EEHA-01, EX11) LOLER competent person Expert technical knowledge of power asset operations and maintenance Proficient knowledge of SAP CMMS in relation to maintenance work planning and delivery Excellent analytical skills and be proficient with the MS Office suite of applications Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload in the face of competing demands Specialist knowledge of procurement, contracts, and project management Be an experienced People Manager and be able to manage maintenance staff and contractors Ability to listen generously and practice open advocacy Lead in continuous improvement and root cause analysis methods with the ability to implement a continuous improvement philosophy across the operations function, delivering best practices at all times Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organisations.
