Location: Cowes, Portsmouth Broad Oak, Great Baddow (3 days a week onsite)


Salary: Up to £87,200 (dependent on skills and experience) - Part-time & accruing hours available!

Your Role

As a Principal Electronics Systems Engineer, you will provide authoritative leadership across the full engineering lifecycle. You’ll tackle complex electronic systems challenges, define and assure designs, and guide multidisciplinary teams. Your deep electronics expertise will ensure consistent, high-quality engineering across our radar systems.



Core Responsibilities


* Support the SDA with overall Radar System design.


* Define and capture digital requirements from board level to sub-system level.


* Provide digital techniques support to the SDA and techniques groups (RF, software, digits, mechanical, DO) throughout the design lifecycle.


* Ensure adherence to established design protocols during the design process.


* Analyze system architectures to guide make/buy/COTS decisions.


* Define test and integration plans from board to system level.


* Ensure sufficient built-in functionality for design assurance and contribute to the system design assurance specification.




Essential Skills


* A degree or significant experience in Electronic Engineering or a closely related field.


* Experience in digital electronics, including FPGA development and high-speed interfaces (e.g., serial FPDP, JESD204).


* Experience in sub-system and system integration and testing.


* Familiarity with Xilinx/AMD FPGA products and Vivado design tools.


* Experience in radar system data analysis.


* Comprehensive understanding of the full design process, from requirements to design assurance and sign-off.


* Solid understanding of radar operation, particularly Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars.
