Location: Crawley (primary) with secondary training locations including Lewes and Guildford.

The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.


The Role & Key Responsibilities

From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference. It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe. In this role you will be delivering training to enable learners to achieve the required level of knowledge, skills and behaviours required to effectively deploy as First Aiders. Training delivery ranges from MOD 2 First Aid Skills to MOD 5 Enhanced Skills including Oxygen and Pain relief administration in multiple training environments utilising PowerPoint delivery and Scenario Based Training. You will support and manage learning and assessment activities to ensure the achievement of accredited packages (e.g. College of Policing programmes FALP), produce lesson plans (as directed) which are to Force standard and reflect National Occupational Standards. You will respond to problems experienced by individual learners and identify suitable ways forward, acting in accordance with force policy. You are expected to adhere to the Code of Ethics and behavioural standards at all times and maintain Force standards. You will deliver several Learning & Development topics using varied learning styles and acquire technical subject matter knowledge as required to maintain training standards across the force. You will be expected to supervise behaviour and maintain professional conduct. This role may require occasional travel and weekend work as needed to meet department demands.

Primary training location is Crawley; secondary locations include Lewes and Guildford. Other duties as determined by the Team Leader and payable at the appropriate grade.


Skills & Experience

* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to facilitate development and influence learners.
* Exceptional presentation skills for workshops with individuals and teams.
* Understanding and embedding diversity within learning programmes.
* Strong written communication skills for records and reports.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accurate keyboard skills.
* Ability to demonstrate all First Aid techniques delivered in the FALP (College of Policing), including CPR, recovery position and spinal log roll.
* Assist in monitoring kit and equipment to ensure it is fit for purpose.
* Willingness to undertake weekend working and occasional travel across Surrey & Sussex (travel expenses reimbursed).
* Commitment to CPD and keeping learning up-to-date.
