We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Horticultural Nursery Worker & Irrigation Operative to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in plants along with an understanding of irrigation systems, who enjoys working outdoors in a team environment along with being self-motivated.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Care and maintenance of plant stock, including watering, pruning, feeding, and pest management, and ensuring the plants are kept in good condition.
* Supervision and monitoring of irrigation systems to ensure optimal plant health and needs depending on crop.
* Being responsible for watering of crops outdoors or under protection.
* Troubleshooting and repairing irrigation equipment as required.
* Assisting with propagation, potting, planting, and general nursery duties
* Monitoring plant growth, health, and quality
* Work closely with nursery manager to lower wastage and monitor stock levels during the season
* Ensuring a safe, clean, and well-organized nursery environment
Requirements
* Friendly, Reliable and Trustworthy with a 'Can Do' attitude
* Previous experience in horticultural nursery work,
* Practical knowledge of plant care and irrigation practices
* Hands-on ability to maintain and repair irrigation systems
* Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor manual work in all weather conditions.
* Strong attention to detail, self-motivated and cooperative
* Work well in a team environment but also be comfortable to work by themselves
* Relevant qualifications in horticulture or irrigation (advantageous but not essential)
* Basic knowledge of health & safety practices
* Ideally to be certified in Counter Balance Forklift and PA1 & PA6 courses.

Employment: Full-time 39h per week + Overtime during peak periods and when required.
