About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants on behalf of a well-regarded secondary special school in Northolt. The school caters for young people with moderate and severe learning difficulties, including those in Key Stage 3 provision for Year 7 pupils at an additional site nearby.
The school offers a broad, personalised curriculum to meet the needs of each learner, with exceptional outdoor and woodland learning spaces and strong community links. Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and group support for students with a range of SEND
* Assist teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons
* Support pupils’ communication, social, and emotional needs
* Help create a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment
* Build supportive and trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
* Work under the guidance of teaching staff to implement individual learning plans
Assignment Details
* Full-time: 32.5 hours per week
* Monday to Friday, term time only
* Long-term roles starting September 2025
* Opportunity for ongoing or permanent employment
Person Specification
* Must have previous experience working with young people with SEND
* Ability to relate well to both children and adults
* Positive, enthusiastic, and resilient with high energy levels
* Experience dealing with challenging behaviour.
* Able to follow instructions while also taking initiative when needed
* A current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Connex
