Job Description:
This role focuses on indirect tax technology implementation, maintenance, and optimization, with emphasis on tax engine and tax compliance software. The position supports tax technology for the International Region by identifying and implementing new technology and process improvements to drive compliance and savings, along with ensuring tax team members are properly trained.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with Tax Engine and Tax Compliance implementations, maintenance, and documentation of indirect tax automation and reporting tools (Vertex O, VITR, SAF-T, Real Time Reporting, e-invoicing).
* Support ERP integrations, particularly with Oracle R12, including requirements gathering, solution design, and fit-gap analysis.
* Develop and manage testing scenarios to ensure comprehensive tax coverage for system implementations.
* Assess, document, and improve processes and data flows.
* Utilize data analytics tools (Power BI) to increase efficiency for tax activities.
* Design and implement Alteryx workflows to streamline tax processes and enhance analytics capabilities.
* Maintain production tax systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement updates (Oracle R12 EBTax).
* Troubleshoot indirect tax issues, including Hypercare support for Tax Engine implementations, compliance, and e-invoicing issues.
* Identify potential process improvements and recommend strategies for implementation.
* Deploy and support tax compliance solutions, including e-invoicing and real-time reporting.
* Develop expertise in tax-related software and provide training.
* Serve as liaison between Tax, Finance, and IT teams for tax technology projects.
* Prioritize and document system requirements, sharing and testing overlapping needs.
* Participate in other tax projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or related field.
* Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CA) are a plus but not required.
Experience:
* Minimum 5 years in tax technology, especially indirect tax systems (VAT/GST).
* Experience with tax engine implementation and maintenance (Vertex O, VITR).
* Hands-on ERP experience, especially with Oracle R12 and EBTax configuration.
Technical Skills:
* Knowledge of indirect tax compliance and reporting across jurisdictions.
* Experience with data analytics and visualization tools like Power BI.
* Proficiency with workflow tools such as Alteryx.
* Knowledge of electronic invoicing, SAF-T, and real-time reporting solutions.
* Ability to troubleshoot and maintain tax systems.
