Location: Marischal College, Broad Street, Aberdeen Duration: Permanent, Full Time About the Role: To ensure that works carried out by Utility Contractors, Private Contractors and Developers comply with the drawings, specifications and standards as contained within the Codes of Practice. Included in the role is the requirement to monitor all other street work activities covered by the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, including skips, scaffolds, cherry pickers and Section 56 and 109 works. Noticing relating to Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders need to be installed adjacent to the relevant works, monitored and removed on completion. The post holder needs to hold as a minimum: Standard Grades or equivalenT Full Current Manual UK Driving Licence The postholder is able to demonstrate: HSkills & Experience in: Ability to carry appropriate manual tasks Ability to exercise own judgement Analytical skills Ability to work within a multi-disciplined team environment and on own initiative Keeping up-to-date records in relation to inspections and site visits Understanding of: Roads infrastructure maintenance operations and activities Road Construction industry or Civil Engineering Construction site works Chapter 8 signage Safety at Street Works and Road Works, Code of Practice IT competencies, including Outlook and Microsoft Teams Commitment to: Training appropriate to the role as required; this may include: Traffic management and appropriate equipment operation etc HAUC certification (if not previously obtained) Complete the following Aberdeen City Council online interactive courses: Data Protection Essentials Protecting Children For Your Eyes Only Freedom of Information Health & Safety Training About Us Please see the Job Profile for further details.
