Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse with a passion for looking after acutely unwell, frail and older patients within a supportive acute geriatric unit called Emergency Frailty Unit (EFU). The unit is supported by 3 geriatricians experienced in the management of both acute medical problems as well as chronic geriatric problems, by an experienced therapy team, a discharge coordinator who works closely with the community resource team and an advanced nurse practitioner. The role offers experience in the management of various acute medical problems as well as chronic geriatric conditions. With a friendly working environment supported by strong leadership, the post holder is hoped to enjoy continuous career growth both clinically and in leadership. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main Duties
We admit frail and older patients who need hospital admissions for:
* Decompensated medical problems (e.g., CCF, AKI, COPD, decompensated neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, Motor Neuron disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and various types of dementia/delirium).
* Functional decline due to various medical and psychological conditions needing efficient therapy input.

Only staff currently employed by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board are eligible to apply.
