We have an exciting opportunity for a client based in the Dumbarton area.
This is a Machine operative role working on a rotating early and back shift, Monday to Thursday, 37 hours per week.
Please note this is an ongoing temporary role.
The role
To operate, monitor, and maintain production machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality output. The Machine Operative will work as part of a warehousing team, maintaining high safety standards and contributing to continuous improvement across the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
Operate machinery and equipment in line with company procedures and production schedules
Monitor machine performance and make basic adjustments to maintain product quality
Conduct routine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance of machinery
Identify faults or issues and report them promptly to the maintenance or supervisory team
Carry out quality checks on products to ensure they meet required standards
Follow all health & safety guidelines, including PPE and safe working practices
Keep work areas clean, tidy, and compliant with workplace organisation standards
Record production data accurately (batch numbers, downtime, output, rejects)
Assist colleagues and work collaboratively to meet team targets
Participate in training and support continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience in a machine operator or production operative role
Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Good communication skills and teamwork orientation
Basic mechanical understanding and ability to troubleshoot minor issues
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets
Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks
This role is expected to commence within 1 week, so candidates must be available immediately
