The Role
The Governors are seeking to appoint a committed and skilled Mathematics teacher to teach across the key stages.
You will plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons, set clear expectations for pupils and support them to make strong progress. The role involves using a range of teaching strategies, assessing and recording pupil progress, providing meaningful feedback, and creating a purposeful learning environment where pupils feel confident and supported.
There is potential for the successful candidate to undertake the role of Assistant Head of the Mathematics Faculty during a period of maternity cover. There may also be an opportunity to teach Psychology as a second subject, although this is optional.
Applications from Early Career Teachers are welcomed.
What We’re Looking For
1. A good degree in Mathematics or a relevant subject
2. PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status, or the ability to gain QTS by September 2026
3. Experience of teaching Mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4
4. Knowledge of KS3 programmes of study and GCSE specifications
5. An understanding of excellent teaching and strategies for raising standards
6. The ability to plan effectively so pupils make progress
7. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a purposeful learning environment
8. The ability to motivate pupils to fulfil their potential
9. Excellent communication skills
10. Good ICT skills
11. A positive, energetic and innovative approach
12. A commitment to professional development and wider school life
13. Welsh language skills at the required level for the role
