Key Responsibilities
Perform precision TIG welding on aluminium automotive components in line with engineering drawings and specifications
Prepare, align, and clamp components to ensure correct fit, accuracy, and finish
Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirements
Maintain welding equipment and ensure a safe, clean, and organised working environment
Collaborate with production engineers and quality teams to resolve technical or process issues
Work efficiently to production schedules and deadlines without compromising quality
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in Aluminium TIG welding, ideally within automotive or precision engineering environments
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
Good understanding of welding safety standards and best practices
Experience working with jigs, fixtures, and batch production processes
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
Recognised welding qualifications (e.g. BS EN ISO 9606 or equivalent)
Experience with additional welding processes (MIG, brazing)
Experience working with other materials such as steel or stainless steel
Familiarity with motorsport or high-performance automotive components
Role Characteristics
Autonomy: Some independence of action within clearly defined procedures
Complexity: Work requires discretion, judgement, and knowledge of a variety of welding methods and techniques
Supervision: Operates under general supervision with routine performance checks
Responsibility: No direct reports, though may assist with training or guiding junior team members
Work Pressure: Moderate, with responsibility to meet externally driven production targets
Collaboration: Regular interaction within the production team and across the wider organisation
