An exciting opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and experience of working in social services. You will work, after training and under supervision, to provide support to care experienced young people who participate in Fife’s National House Project, including:
1. Supporting the team to deliver group work interventions with vulnerable groups of young people.
2. Learning about, and contributing to, planning around risk and need.
3. Using systems to record updates and contribute to the development of digital learning portfolios for young people.
4. Learning about, and applying, the National House Project’s psychologically informed practice framework.
5. Supporting young people to develop skills in interdependent living.
6. Working closely with a wide range of partners and attending meetings.
7. Supporting care experienced young people to move into their first home. Undertaking practical tasks to support them to furnish and decorate their first home
The Person
8. Educated to SCQF Level 5, including 3 Standard Grades at credit level, Intermediate 2s or national 5s, including maths and English.
9. Ideally you should be capable of using IT applications and the ability to develop good communication skills
10. You will have the aptitude to develop key skills including listening, problem-solving and organisational skills.
11. You will have a basic understanding of the issues affecting.
12. You will have an interest in learning about social services and the support available to young people leaving care.
13. Knowledge or experience of the care system.
14. Experience of working or participating in groups.
15. Ability to prioritise workload.
16. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle information sensitively.
A Modern Apprenticeship is a work-based training programme that leads to an industry approved qualification. As part of this post, the Apprentice must achieve milestone targets related to completion of Social Services (Children & Young People) SVQ Level 3 (SCQF Level 7) as agreed on an individual Training Plan. Failure to meet these targets may result in the termination of the apprenticeship post.
