Job Summary
We are looking for a consultant immunologist to join the Leeds Immunology & Allergy services at St James’s University Hospital. The appointee will become a key member of a highly experienced multidisciplinary team providing specialised services for patients with rare primary immunodeficiencies, systemic autoinflammatory disorders and a range of allergic diseases.
Key Responsibilities
* Sustain the current capacity of the service for clinical allergy and immunology work, with a view to expansion following further development of nursing clinics and review of patient throughput.
* Ensure the smooth flow from diagnosis to treatment and follow‑up.
* Support development of the Allergy & Immunology Service.
* Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and develop innovative ways of working to sustain an increasing patient load.
* Contribute to the Allergy & Immunology on‑call rota (Category B).
* Allow the continuing development of subspecialty interests within the Leeds immunology and allergy service.
Required Experience and Qualifications
• Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (or equivalent).
• Completion of a recognised training programme in clinical and laboratory immunology as defined by the JRCPTB or an equivalent body.
• Applicants must be on the Specialist Register or within six months of admission to the Register for trainees currently in a UK training programme.
• All other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register in accordance with consultant appointment regulations.
Desirable
A strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research interest are desirable.

Additional Information
• Salary: £113,565 to £150,569 a year.
• Contract: Permanent.
• Working pattern: Full‑time (10PA). Contact on call on a 1:4 rota.
