Role Overview
Deputy Home Manager – responsible for ensuring clinical care exceeds professional standards, statutory, regulatory and legal requirements. Provides specialist nursing support and advice, takes responsibility for resident care in the Home Manager’s absence and supervises/coaches colleagues to maintain a service of unmatched empathy for resident issues.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist nursing support and advice to residents and staff.
* Take responsibility for resident care in the Home Manager’s absence.
* Supervise, coach and mentor colleagues to deliver high‑quality, empathetic care.
* Maintain accurate and meaningful records of resident care and staff activities.
* Recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect and act appropriately, including safeguarding training and escalation procedures.
* Communicate considerately and kind to residents and co‑workers.
* Adopt and promote HC‑One’s core values of kindness, curiosity, compassion, creativity, courage and inclusivity.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Valid NMC PIN.
* Knowledge of National Standards and NMC Code of Practice.
* Background in person‑centred care planning within a care home.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and positive energy; ability to get along with people.
* Strong time‑management skills and ability to keep meaningful records.
