Senior BI Developer - Hybrid Working About The Role We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join a leading Lloyd's market syndicate. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in transforming data into critical insights that drive business performance and strategic decision-making within a dynamic and fast-paced insurance environment. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end BI solutions using Power BI, DAX, and SQL, working closely with underwriters, actuaries, finance, and senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Design, build and optimize interactive Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to the Lloyd's insurance market. Working specifically with underwriting teams to support their BI processes. Write efficient DAX measures and calculated columns to support analytical requirements. Develop robust SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes to source and transform data. Translate complex data requirements into scalable BI solutions. Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and deliver meaningful insights. Lead data governance and quality initiatives to ensure data integrity and consistency. Mentor junior developers and contribute to BI strategy and best practices. S kills & Experience Required Proven experience as a BI Developer, ideally within the Lloyd's or London Insurance Market. Advanced proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and SQL. Experience working with Underwriting teams. Strong understanding of insurance-specific data models including premiums, claims, exposures, and bordereaux. Hands-on experience working with data warehouses, data marts, and ETL pipelines. Solid knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, Azure SQL). Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Desirable Experience with cloud-based BI platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics). Familiarity with Lloyd's regulatory reporting and actuarial datasets. Exposure to Python or R for advanced analytics.
