Safran Seats is a leading manufacturer of aircraft seats for both crew and passengers, with 1 million seats currently in service worldwide. In the UK, Safran Seats specializes in First Class and Business Class seating for wide-body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams based in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales, and Brackley, England.
The role of Supply Chain Director, reporting to the VP Industrial BU, involves overseeing the end-to-end supply chain performance of SGB, including financial and operational aspects. The director will be the process owner of SGB's IBP, ensuring alignment between demand planning, sales, operations, financial plans, and the medium-term plan.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Developing and executing supply chain strategies aligned with Safran Seats BU and global strategies.
2. Establishing robust procurement processes ensuring materials meet delivery and quality standards.
3. Owning the SSTs BU Integrated Business Planning process for consistency across demand forecasts, innovation, capacity, and financial plans.
4. Leading continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain transformation according to MRP2 standards.
5. Providing leadership to deploy business vision, objectives, and KPIs across the supply chain organization.
6. Ensuring achievement of performance goals through sustainable, process-driven methods.
7. Driving lean enterprise principles and implementing Safran Standards.
8. Coordinating activities with other departments and supporting stakeholder relationships.
9. Developing plans to improve the work environment, employee development, and retention.
10. Promoting Safran Leadership values within the supply chain business.
11. Ensuring continuous improvement and alignment of supply chain processes across the network.
12. Maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Candidate Skills:
* Proven experience with MRP2 principles and supply chain process deployment or operations.
* CPIM accreditation.
* Extensive leadership experience at a senior/executive level in complex organizations.
* Successful track record in devising and implementing supply chain strategies.
* Experience with P&L responsibility, budgeting, and target achievement.
* Strong background and interest in aircraft interiors supply chain performance improvements.
* Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity.
* Comprehensive technical and commercial knowledge of the aircraft interiors business.
