Content Writer Location: Gateshead office, with hybrid working Salary: £28,000 About the Role We’re looking for two enthusiastic Content Writers to join the Marketing team at Vertu Motors plc, one of the UK’s largest automotive retailers. You’ll create high‑quality, engaging automotive content that enhances the customer journey and supports brand growth. Working with SEO, Web, PR and Social teams—and confidently managing your own workload—you’ll help deliver content that improves visibility, drives enquiries and meets key performance targets. Reporting to the Senior Content Lead, you will produce consistent, on‑brand content across reviews, guides, product descriptions, service explainers, event landing pages, newsroom articles and customer communications. You’ll also help maintain and develop our tone of voice across channels. We encourage the effective use of AI tools to support research and optimisation, while maintaining strong editorial judgement and creativity. Key Responsibilities Produce engaging content across multiple formats, including reviews, guides, product descriptions, newsroom articles and customer communications. Write topical, reactive newsroom content. Use AI tools to support efficient, optimised content creation. Uphold brand guidelines and a consistent tone of voice. Update and evolve existing content across brands. Work with SEO and Web teams to improve search performance and drive conversions. Monitor KPIs such as rankings, traffic and engagement. Build strong relationships with Channel Leads and integrate updates. Generate ideas for future content and collaborate with PR, Social, Events and Video teams. Qualifications & Skills Experience as a Content Writer or Copywriter, with a strong portfolio. Ability to write persuasive customer journey messaging; automotive experience is an advantage. Excellent written communication and attention to detail. Ability to create content for varied audiences and formats. Confident using AI tools to support content creation. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Knowledge of keyword research and SEO best practice. Experience with GA4 or similar analytics tools. Interest in the automotive sector; industry experience is desirable.
