Were looking for a competent Accountant to join a major UK distributor to store business on a part-time basis. Our client has been established for more than 30 years, employing close to staff members, with an annual turnover of £12m.

As the companys Management Accountant, youll take responsibility for a wide range of accounting duties, including the purchase of foreign currency and dealing with foreign payments, as the company imports many of their goods. Youll also be required to occasionally cover payroll whilst the company bookkeeper is on annual leave. This is a great opportunity to join a well established distribution company, working with a fantastic team.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Prepare monthly management accounts, including the calculation of accruals and prepayments
2. Prepare and submit VAT returns (quarterly for UK business, bi-monthly for the RoI business)
3. Reconcile GBP, USD and Euro company bank accounts
4. Take responsibility for the purchase of foreign currency and foreign supplier payments
5. Manage ROI purchase ledger and payments
6. Prepare cashflow forecasts
7. Analyse sales and calculate sales rebates
8. Conduct monthly stock reconciliation and compile quarterly Aged Stock Analysis
9. Manage company credit card facility and monthly analysis of expenditure
10. Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and calculate monthly depreciation charges
11. Prepare and post weekly and monthly payroll costs journal
12. Provide cover for Sage payroll process and weekly EDI transmission (whilst Bookkeeper is on leave)
13. Liaise with bank and assisting auditors
14. Complete and submit National Statistic Questionnaires
