We are hiring two Senior Technical Analyst to help drive the standards that protect our environment while ensuring our wastewater and water services consistently deliver strong results for our customers and regulators. About the Role
As a Senior Technical Analyst you will report to the Regulatory Operational Performance Manager and play a key role within the Water / Wastewater process Environmental Performance Teams. These teams are responsible for delivering reliable, accurate and complete data submissions to our regulators, for monitoring and reporting on compliance, providing compliance guidance and support across the business and driving continuous improvement.
This role offers significant responsibility. You will lead meetings, facilitate discussions, present performance insights, make informed decisions with confidence, and deputise for the manager when required. You will also liaise directly with regulators, industry colleagues and external bodies including the Environment Agency so your professionalism, clear communication and strong organisation skills will be essential.
You will mentor and support Technical Analysts and other team members helping to build capability and share best practice. Collaboration is central to the role as you will work closely with Field Operations and colleagues across the business to build strong working relationships and maintain a consistent approach to performance and environmental management.
You will balance reactive requests with planned work while staying up to date with regulatory developments and proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen our processes. Flexibility, resilience and an openness to new ways of working will help you thrive in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete detailed assessments of regulatory compliance across internal and external measures
* Provide coaching and mentoring support to Technical Analysts and wider team members
* Produce and ensure accurate timely and reliable regulatory returns that meet all requirements
* Lead and support improvement initiatives and promote new ways of working
* Deliver actions that drive regional regulatory operational performance
* Prepare and contribute to briefings on best practice and operational performance
* Present insights and updates to operational field teams and senior stakeholders
* Provide technical advice to operational teams when required
* Develop and maintain documentation for business planning and price review processes
* Deputise for and support the manager including leading meetings, facilitating workshops and engaging with regulators
Skills and Experience
* Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise confidently and effectively

* Proactive and composed under pressure with a strong sense of initiative
* Solid understanding of systems with advanced Excel capability
* Knowledge of Power BI or Tableau is desirable
* Understanding of environmental regulation including abstraction and impoundment and / or wastewater treatment permitting
