The University of Sheffield is seeking a Project Administrator to join the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN) on the MND Together project. The post supports a national research project involving collaboration with the University of Sheffield, Liverpool John Moores University and multiple NHS trusts.
Responsibilities
* Work in close collaboration with the senior investigators to manage the day-to-day delivery of the MND Together study.
* Arrange meetings with a range of professionals including people with motor neuron disease (MND), informal carers, and healthcare professionals.
* Minute meetings and organise actions.
* Process repayments for a Lived Experience Advisory Group.
* Occasionally transcribe interviews.
* Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
* Support the process of seeking, channeling, and acting on consumer views, including handling complaints in line with Trust policy in conjunction with the supervising consultant neurologist.
* Contribute to the principles of the Sheffield Academic; support excellence in applied teaching and research and pursue scholarly activities.
* Encourage ethical decision-making and embed the University’s sustainability strategy into working activities where possible.
* Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
Qualifications
* BSc in a relevant discipline (e.g., psychology, sociology, neuroscience, health services research) or equivalent experience.
* Experience engaging with healthcare professionals and researchers; strong project management skills.
* Experience working with people and/or carers with long-term conditions (desirable).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to report and communicate to staff at different levels of seniority.
* Ability to engage with collaborators and secure delivery of actions from them.
* A positive attitude to collaborative research and experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
Further information The role is part-time (6 hours per week), starting as soon as possible and ending 30/06/2028. Salary is £25,249 - £26,707 pro-rata. Line manager: MND Together Principal Investigator. Direct reports: MND Together Principal Investigator.
