Description Collection, validation, and preparation of procurement data Supply market research, analysis, and benchmarking activities Identification, engagement, and ongoing management of stakeholders Participation in and support of stakeholder engagement sessions Contribution to the development of tender specifications and requirements Preparation and drafting of ITTs and RFQs using approved standard templates Effective and efficient use of the WWU e-Procurement system throughout the tender process Post-tender evaluation, analysis, and reporting Support for and participation in supplier negotiations Contribution to the preparation of contract award recommendations and documentation Support for the implementation and onboarding of new suppliers and processes following contract awardProfile A successful Assistant Buyer should have: Degree-qualified and/or MCIPS-qualified procurement professional with broad, relevant experience and proven practical application Strong understanding of EU procurement regulations, contract processes, procedures, and recognised best practice High level of commercial awareness with the ability to apply sound business judgement Proven ability to build, manage, and maintain effective stakeholder and supplier relationships Proactive, focused self-starter who takes ownership and accountability for delivering against performance objectives Capable of working independently using own initiative, while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative teamJob Offer Competitive salary range starting at £42,856.
