This is a high‑impact role where you’ll influence data architecture, governance and transformation practices, as well as influence the business strategy to become AI‑ready.
You will be joining a small, autonomous data team with a flat structure, giving you visibility and influence over how data drives the wider business.
What you’ll do

* Establish and enforce data governance, quality, and lifecycle standards in a regulated environment.
* Integrate tools, workflows, and pipelines into the warehouse, supporting scalable, modern data architecture.
* Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into fit‑for‑purpose, usable data.
* Influence technical standards, mentor junior engineers and shape best practices for data engineering.
* Prepare the platform to support AI, ML and advanced analytics initiatives.
Who we’re looking for
* 5+ years hands‑on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS preferred, Redshift/S3/Glue) and data warehousing.
* Experienced in data modelling, transformations and building stable pipelines in production.
* Regulated finance or fintech background (e.g., emerging banks, scale‑up neobanks, FinTechs).
* Proficiency in Python for integration and transformation tasks.
* Familiarity with DBT or similar transformation tooling.
* Comfortable running a data warehouse independently, implementing governance and standards.
* Exposure to AI / ML initiatives is a plus.
* Autonomous, proactive and able to influence senior stakeholders.
* Strong communicator with the ability to translate technical challenges into business outcomes.
* Collaborative, solution‑focused and committed to building trusted, high‑quality data.
Location & package
* 2–3 days in‑office per week (Manchester)
* Competitive salary with career growth and professional development opportunities.
* Comprehensive health, wellbeing and financial protection benefits.
* Generous holiday allowance and flexible family‑friendly policies.
* Access to a range of retail discounts, perks and social/team activities.
If you thrive in a fast‑moving and collaborative environment and want to make a real impact, this role is for you.
