Maintenance Assistant – Band 3
Permanent, full-time: 37.5 hours per week (08:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday)
Site: Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool. Department: LUH - 1 General Staffing (AFC posts).
Salary: £24,937 - £26,598 per annum. Closing date: 20/10/2025 23:59.
Responsibilities
* Planned Maintenance: Execute a range of planned maintenance tasks to keep buildings and external environments safe and in good order.
* Safety First: Conduct regular inspections and address potential hazards to maintain a secure environment.
* Exceptional Service: Deliver outstanding customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests and collaborating with colleagues.
* Flexible Support: Adapt to changing priorities and support clinical teams and patient care as required.
* To undertake, without supervision, a variety of tasks which include:
o External grounds inspections
o Repair and replacement of external pavings and kerbs
o Casting of concrete slabs
o General site labouring
o Dismantling and installation of hospital equipment and street furniture
o Road repairs
o General building repairs
o Patch plastering

Person specification
Knowledge/Experience
* Essential: Proven history of working within an Engineering / Building environment.
* Essential: Good hand skills with fine tools.
* Essential: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* Essential: Experience and competence to carry out general builders tasks.
* Desirable: Experience and knowledge of plastering.
Qualifications
* Essential: City and Guilds level qualification.
* Essential: NVQ Training in an Engineering / Building Discipline.
Other
* Essential: Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision; team player; committed to the job.
* Able to manage conflicting demands and plan work accordingly.
