Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking a commercially minded lawyer to join its Contentious Data Protection & Information Governance team on a 12-month FTC. You will advise on complex data protection disputes, privacy matters, cyber incidents, data breaches and individual rights requests, supporting clients across a range of sectors on business‑critical and high‑profile issues.

Contract type: 12 month fixed‑term contract
Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities
* Advise clients on data subject access requests (DSARs) and other individual rights requests
* Support clients in responding to data breaches, cyber incidents and security events
* Manage contentious data protection and privacy disputes, including associated litigation
* Assist with regulatory investigations, complaints and enforcement action
* Provide strategic advice on information governance, records management and privacy compliance issues
* Draft legal documents, correspondence and client advice with accuracy and attention to detail
* Work closely with colleagues across disputes, regulatory, technology and cyber teams to deliver seamless client service
* Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives
About you
* Solicitor in England and Wales with experience in data protection, privacy, information governance, cyber security or related disputes work.
* Experience handling DSARs, individual rights requests, data breaches or regulatory investigations is highly desirable.
