Overview
We are seeking a Monitoring Management Leader to lead a specialized team responsible for managing the IT monitoring infrastructure for our client, ScottishPower. This is a key leadership role that requires both expert technical knowledge and the ability to guide a team.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Monitoring Team: Manage and direct a team of technical professionals, overseeing their activities and ensuring the effective use of resources.
* Manage Monitoring Infrastructure: Oversee the entire IT monitoring infrastructure for ScottishPower, ensuring its reliability and optimal performance.
* Provide Technical Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert, offering guidance and hands-on support to the team to solve complex technical issues.
* Coordinate Operations: Work closely with the team to micro-manage day-to-day tasks and ensure all activities align with service goals.
* Ensure Service Excellence: Drive the team to deliver high-quality service by maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of all monitoring tools and systems.
Requirements
* Education: University degree in a technical field such as IT, Telecommunications, or Mathematics.
* Experience: A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in technical areas, platforms, and tools specific to IT monitoring.
* Technical Knowledge:
* Synthetic Monitoring: Expertise in BMC TrueSight Synthetic Monitoring and/or Elastic Synthetic Monitoring, including scripting for custom monitoring and dashboard creation.
* Network & Performance Monitoring: Strong knowledge of BMC Entuity and BMC ProactiveNet Performance Manager for proactive monitoring, network, and device analysis.
* Configuration Management: Familiarity with BMC Patrol Configuration Management, including its architecture and administration.
* Alerting & Event Management: Experience with OpsGenie (architecture, configuration, and API calls) and CA Spectrum for event and alarm management.
* Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Must be able to manage resources effectively and work under pressure.
* Additional: This role requires participation in an on-call rotation.
* Location: This position is based in the UK, with the potential to transition to a permanent role with the client.
