The Airworthiness Engineer is responsible for ensuring that aerospace platforms, systems, and modifications comply with applicable airworthiness, regulatory, and safety requirements.
The role provides technical capability in certification planning, compliance demonstration, regulatory interpretation, and safety assessment. The post holder supports the full engineering lifecycle-from concept development and design through to testing, certification, and continued airworthiness-ensuring that all engineering activities meet regulatory, customer, and organisational obligations.
You will:
* Develop and maintain airworthiness compliance plans, certification matrices, and regulatory checklists.
* Support safety assessments including FHA, PSSA, SSA, and FMEA activities.
* Work closely with systems, mechanical, electrical, and flight sciences teams to ensure designs meet airworthiness and certification requirements.
* Support ground and flight test programmes by defining certification-related test objectives and data requirements.
* Ensure all airworthiness engineering activities comply with UK Health & Safety legislation including HASAWA 1974.
Essential
