Job Introduction
Igne are seeking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the successful and expanding Ground Investigation Division (GI England) based from Chester-le-Street, County Durham. You will be responsible for managing large complex ground investigation projects and have the expertise to write first class interpretative reports.

Key responsibilities
* Collect, validate, and log subsurface data, including borehole logs, sampling records, and geophysical survey outputs.
* Perform geological interpretation of site data to develop factual logs and initial ground models.
* Contribute to technical reporting, preparing factual geotechnical logs, laboratory data summaries, and interpretative narratives.
* Maintain project schedules and resource allocations in collaboration with the Geotechnical Co‑ordinator.
* Support tender preparation by providing scope input, cost estimates, and technical write‑ups.
* Monitor specialist equipment usage and report any maintenance or calibration requirements.
* Oversee and manage ground investigation projects.
The following are requirements for this position
* Bachelor or Masters' degree in a related subject (Geotechnical Engineering, Geology and Environmental Science or related discipline)
* Previous experience in contract management of ground investigation projects
* Excellent written and oral communication skills and reporting abilities
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Full driving licence (travel is required)
