Gloucestershire County Council is seeking an exceptional, forward-thinking Director of Finance to join our Corporate Leadership Team and help drive transformation across our organisation. Your Role As Finance Director and Deputy S151, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Gloucestershire’s future. You’ll provide trusted financial leadership at the heart of the council, ensuring resources are well managed and ambitions are delivered. Leading teams across finance, pensions, audit, risk, procurement and business services, you’ll set high standards and drive continuous improvement. You’ll deputise for the Chief Finance Officer, guiding the Medium-Term Financial Strategy, statutory accounts and key Cabinet reports, while championing innovation and smarter ways of working that improve services for residents. About You You’re a CCAB-qualified finance professional with a track record of leading at senior level in complex organisations. Strategic and collaborative, you’re confident working in a political environment and credible with Members, senior leaders and partners. You have the resilience to balance competing demands, the vision to see opportunities ahead, and the drive to turn strategy into results. You’re passionate about public service, experienced in leading cultural change, and ready to bring fresh thinking, digital innovation and professional excellence to the role.
