Position Overview
Administrative Support Associate for Housing and Residence Life at UNC Pembroke. Supports the Office of Housing and Residence Life, including the Director and Associate Directors, and serves as a backup to the Housing Coordinator. Provides advanced‑level administrative, operational, and programmatic support, manages complex student‑facing processes, and serves as primary point of contact for students, families, and campus partners.
Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate housing contract release and exemption workflows, including committee coordination, documentation review, tracking, and communication of outcomes.
* Provide administrative and clerical support, maintain the Director’s calendar, coordinate meetings, and manage scheduling needs.
* Respond to departmental communications, interpret housing policies, procedures, and timelines to students, families, and campus partners.
* Operate front office, manage telephone communications and visitors, and provide customer service and professional support.
* Process facility work orders, monitor completion, and maintain a supply inventory list.
* Operate office equipment, computer, and university software applications.
* Develop, evaluate, and maintain filing and record‑keeping systems, ensuring compliance with institutional and legal standards.
* Compose emails, letters, memos, reports, and departmental publications.
* Process travel requests and expense reports for Housing and Residence Life staff.
* Assist with training, guidance, and oversight of student workers, assigning tasks and ensuring quality of front office operations.
* Coordinate housing showroom tours in collaboration with Admissions and Residence Life staff.
* Generate meeting minutes and schedule conferences.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
* Prior administrative support experience preferred.
* Strong administrative skills and demonstrated critical thinking and problem‑solving skills preferred.
* Prior employment experience in customer service, student services, and/or housing management or operations preferred.

Position requires successful completion of an employment background check, including criminal background check, employment verification, reference checks, license verification (if applicable), and credit history check (if applicable). All employees must verify identity and eligibility to work in the U.S. and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Veterans preference applicants must attach a copy of their DD‑214.

Compensation
Salary Range: $38,890 – $43,000 per year.
