Overview
Bellway is a FTSE 250 five-star house builder, operating 22 trading divisions across England, Scotland and Wales. Bellway will open a new, highly automated Timber Frame Manufacturing facility in Sutton in Ashfield. The new Division, Bellway Home Space, shall become operational later this year, and there is an exciting opportunity to join the initial team as a Maintenance Engineer. The Role
The Maintenance Engineer will ensure full maintenance cover over all shifts and that breakdowns and planned maintenance are dealt with promptly to increase OEE. The processing environment will be managed through a planned preventive maintenance system. The hours will be a rotating 3-shift pattern, 5 days a week; there may be weekend overtime to conduct shutdown maintenance/repair tasks.
Principal accountabilities
* Plant Efficiency
* Coordination of engineering actions arising from the maintenance planned activities
* Maintaining and improving current OEE levels by carrying out the maintenance plan and recording all findings within a Computerised Maintenance Management System
* Completion of Project Improvement Actions to continuously improve the plant's uptime
* Responding effectively to plant breakdowns
* Being part of a multi-skilled team that can cover any type of work, whether electrical or mechanical
* Support training for machine operatives
* Environmental, Health and Safety
* Ensuring to follow agreed safe systems of work and monitor operators' work in a Health and Safety Compliant manner
* Establishing environmental compliance and awareness throughout the team
* Checking all external contractors' work and obtain RAMS in line with agreed EHS Procedures
* Carrying out work safely and in the interests of all employees in accordance with the EHS procedures and summarized in the EHS responsibilities matrix
* Work by external bodies
* Dealing with contractors when necessary and completing contractor inductions
* Raising requisitions for supplies within agreed budgets and control systems
Measurables
* Increase OEE
* Improvement action completion to deadlines
* Planned maintenance records maintained within the CMMS

Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Experience
* Extensive experience in a manufacturing/production maintenance environment
* Preferably experience of working in a fast moving environment
* Be multi-skilled with either Electrical bias with mechanical skills and knowledge including:
o Working knowledge of PLC controls and instrumentation, and the ability to fault find within a control panel environment
o Ability to use electrical and electronic test instrumentation for checking circuits, mainly focused on analogue circuits
o Capable of using variable power supplies to check instrumentation
o General industrial electrical experience to include installation techniques
o 16th Edition Qualification
* Or Mechanical bias with electrical skills and knowledge, including:
o Automation/controls environment oriented towards appreciation and understanding of pneumatic controls and hydraulics
o Appreciation of electrical aspects which interface with pneumatic control systems; i.e. pressure sensing devices and proportional air control systems
o Hands-on skills including welding and fabrication, capable of undertaking major mechanical repairs or process improvement
Qualifications and Training
* Completion of a recognised mechanical or electrical apprenticeship is desirable

* A strong, proactive and enthusiastic team player
* Capability to be trained to drive a FLT or hold a current FLT Counterbalance or Reach licence
* Demonstrate a willingness and positive attitude towards learning including undertaking specific equipment training
* Flexible and able to integrate within a continuous improvement culture
* Organised and able to cope with multitasking and prioritising in a fast-moving environment
* High commitment to our quality systems and quality of our delivered product (to ISO 9000 standards)

The Role and Working Conditions
Willing to be flexible in respect to day-to-day duties. This is a plant-based role with possible travel to sites for quality and training purposes. Rotating 3-shift pattern, 5 days a week; there may be a need to perform weekend overtime (day shift operation during equipment implementation and production ramp up).
