The post-holder is designated to provide nursing services in Radiology at both Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Wycombe General Hospital. The post holder should work as part of a multi disciplinary team to provide efficient and high standards of caring nursing support whilst patients are in the Department of Radiology in line within the framework of Trust policies.
The role will include assisting with the nurse led interventional assessment clinics for patients attending the Radiology Interventional Service at SMH.
The Radiology Service provides a wide range of procedures ranging from Interventional, Ultra Sound, CT, and MRI etc. The post involves assisting medical staff with some of these procedures and providing pre and post procedural care as part of the general nursing duties.

2.EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
1. Registered Nurse/Awaiting NMC PIN
Desirable criteria
2. Evidence of further continued professional development
3. Post qualification experience in relevant speciality
4. Hold / be working towards an NMC approved mentoring qualification

5. Awareness of current professional nursing issues
6. Demonstrates understanding of the importance of audit/quality
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge

7. Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to negotiate
8. Ability to manage and prioritise own caseload with supervision
9. Ability to develop clinical skills
10. Willingness to undergo training (e.g. medications)
11. Basic IT skills
12. Knowledge of the NMC code of conduct
13. Ability to maintain a safe clinical environment conducive to patient care
14. Ability to work rotating shifts

16. Awareness of the NHSE guidance of clinical governance in order to continuously improve quality of care e.g. quality, safety and ward audit standards
