Overview
The Indirect Procurement Manager Europe and Africa is responsible for developing and executing regional and local buying strategies for primarily the Events category, and other category opportunities as needed. This includes leveraging procurement tools and systems to secure the most competitive costs or best‑fit solutions, negotiating regional and local agreements covering pricing and contractual terms, aligning with organizational strategies, and reviewing and strengthening processes to achieve sourcing objectives.
Responsibilities
* Managing Event Procurement Strategy on a regional and local level.
* Responsible for the end‑to‑end spend management objectives and KPIs for the Events spend category.
* Building strong partnership relationships with all stakeholders and suppliers.
* Planning the execution roadmap of the Regional Events categories, drawing up timelines, targets, and milestones for each subcategory on an ongoing basis.
* Understanding internal stakeholder strategies, objectives, and time constraints.
* Influencing and getting the best results by applying strategic sourcing best practices.
* Actively monitoring the market and vendor capabilities to accommodate internal customer buying needs.
* Defining priorities and organizing workload for the assigned areas.
* Proactively identifying, evaluating, and delivering value‑creation initiatives, including cost reduction, cash‑flow improvements, lead‑time optimisation, quality enhancements, risk mitigation, customer satisfaction improvements, and innovation.
* Performing spend analysis for all Events categories across the countries within the region.
* Leading negotiations and contracts with vendors, driving lowest total cost of ownership while enhancing service levels and member satisfaction.
* Ensuring category compliance with sourcing policies and procedures.
* Driving and achieving cost‑saving targets.
Qualifications
* Over 5–7 years of demonstrated success in delivering competitive advantage to businesses through global experience in large‑to‑small market structures.
* Experience in a similar spend category, sourcing role, or large‑scale event and contract management.
* Successful project management across different countries and regions.
* Experience in managing supplier development initiatives and supplier relationships.
* Experience in negotiating and influencing across multiple geographies and business units.
* Higher education background.
* Strong proficiency with MS Office, including Excel.
* Demonstrated high ethical standards.
About the Team
The team comprises a Senior Director, a Director, a Senior Manager, two Managers, and a Buyer. Tenure ranges from 14 years to a few weeks. The team is regionally situated in Poland, Switzerland (Senior Director & Director), and the UK (current open position). In addition to Events, the team covers various categories, including Travel, HR Services, Digital Solutions, Translation, AOP, Sponsorship, and more.
