Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Cardiology Department as a Band 7 Chief Cardiac Clinical Physiologist. The Cardiology Department performs a wide range of non-invasive diagnostics and is a busy service that has opened some diagnostics to direct access from Primary Care. The echo service may be extended to include weekend working in the future as part of a 6/7 day service.
Responsibilities
* Lead the echocardiography service in the department and contribute to other cardiac diagnostics performed throughout the department.
* Work closely with other cardiac physiologists, the Lead Clinicians in Cardiology, Consultant Cardiologists and the service manager.
* Record, measure and monitor physiological changes in patients and prepare reports on results obtained in Adult Echocardiography.
* Be involved in the training and assessment of junior staff, taking a leading role in physiologist-led Exercise Tolerance Test training.
* Communicate with patients, relatives and staff professionally, respecting patient wishes and maintaining confidentiality; act as a resource and role model while supporting quality assurance and ongoing quality standards.
Qualifications
* Hold accreditation from the British Society of Echocardiography in Adult Echocardiography, or equivalent.
* Significant experience in performing and reporting echocardiograms; able to work independently.
