This role is a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship, perfect for someone who’s organised, enjoys working with people, and wants to start a career in Recruitment, HR, Workforce, Communications or Education. As an Early Careers Apprentice, you’ll help run our work experience programmes, support other Apprentices across the Trust, and build links with local schools and colleges. You’ll get involved in everything from planning events and updating our website to supporting students on placement and helping promote NHS careers. You’ll work closely with the Early Careers Lead, our Careers Ambassadors, Training Providers and teams from across the Trust — so it’s a great chance to meet people, build confidence and develop real skills. You’ll get full support, on‑the‑job training, and plenty of opportunities to learn as you go. After successful completion of all aspects of the apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress to an Early Careers Advisor role, the current salary for this post is £28,392. In this role, you’ll help run our work experience programmes from start to finish. You’ll keep our yearly programme calendar up to date, promote opportunities on our website and social media, and make sure venues, equipment and staff are booked. You’ll also be the main point of contact for students, handling enquiries, confirming places, keeping records accurate and up to date, and helping run face‑to‑face placement days. After each programme, you’ll send out certificates, gather feedback, and help create an annual summary of our work experience activity. You’ll also support any one‑off observation requests. You’ll also get involved in promoting NHS careers to local schools and colleges. This includes planning which events we attend each year, organising volunteers from around the Trust, going along to some careers fairs yourself, and keeping our event resources up to date. You’ll help improve our Early Careers webpages and support regular social media posts to showcase opportunities. Alongside this, you’ll support our non‑clinical Apprenticeships. You’ll update Trust systems with apprentice information, keep our apprentice database accurate, and help maintain our apprentice web pages. You’ll also help bring apprentices together by building an internal network, collecting case studies, and supporting activities during National Apprenticeship Week. You’ll organise apprentice workshops too, making sure rooms and equipment are booked. Role Duties & Responsibilities Co-ordinate Work Experience and observation placements, this will involve: • Developing a yearly calendar of programmes • Updating the Trust website, internal and external comms and social media posts to promote programmes. • Booking relevant facilities and staff to support delivery of programmes. • Undertaking all candidate communication in relation to the work experience programmes • Monitoring responses and creating lists of attendees for all programmes • Maintaining accurate records • Keeping up to date programme details and updating the handbook • Undertaking and keeping accurate records I relation to screening compliance checks including declarations, occupational health declarations • Keeping risk assessments up to date • Keeping induction documents up to date and relevant • Planning and co-ordinating all face-to-face placements • Sending out certificates and evaluations for all programmes • Collating monitoring data • Producing a yearly report on work experience delivery • Co-ordinating ad hoc observation placements • Updating and maintaining all databases linked to work experience • Create a work experience alumni/champions group to promote work experience in their school/college, provide case studies etc Co-ordinate the planning and delivery of Early Careers attraction activities, this will include: • Creating and maintaining a yearly plan of activity of school/college events • Sourcing volunteers from across the Trust to support • Attending events when required. • Developing a standard set of equipment/resources to use at careers events and co-ordinate cost/budget/purchase orders • Project work – develop and update careers information pages on the Trust’s website • Co-ordinating regular social media activity to promote careers information. Co-ordinate Apprenticeship Activity, this will include: • Updating Trust databases (ESR) with all Apprenticeship information to ensure accurate records are maintained • Maintaining and updating a non-clinical apprentice database to clearly show – start/finish dates, line manager, training provider, apprenticeship status, review dates • Creating and updating Apprentice information page on the Trust’s website • Creating an internal network of apprentices and creating case studies • Planning and co-ordinating the yearly National Apprenticeship Week to raise awareness of Apprenticeships across the Trust • Co-ordinating Apprentice workshops by booking facilities and equipment as required Additional Activities • Create quarterly Early Careers newsletter • Become an Apprentice Ambassador • Attend Apprenticeship events and meetings This advert closes on Friday 22 May 2026
