SOS Group - Commissioning Engineer Position
SOS Group is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to cover various sites in Scotland. This is a long-term opportunity with the following responsibilities:
1. Reviewing P&ID diagrams and developing strategies to commission plant and equipment in line with client specifications, ensuring process integrity and risk reduction.
2. Attending commissioning meetings with client engineering and operational teams.
3. Undertaking Factory Acceptance Testing for major plant items.
4. Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors during on-site commissioning.
5. Commissioning, interfacing, and setting to work of equipment such as:
* Pumping Plant
* Process Equipment
* Standby Generation Equipment
1. Knowledge of PLC software packages is highly advantageous.
2. Undertaking or supervising NICEIC electrical installation testing to C&G 2391 standards as required.
3. Demonstrating commissioned plant to client representatives for sign-off prior to takeover.
4. Providing client training on operational and technical aspects.
5. Completing commissioning records and diaries, ensuring all progress and settings are documented for O&M manuals.
6. Assisting the design team through site visits for tendering or design purposes prior to construction.
7. Supporting the design team by preparing electrical designs that comply with current IEE regulations and relevant standards.
Qualifications and Experience
* Industry-appropriate ONC or City & Guilds / NVQ qualification.
* Demonstrable experience in the water and/or sewage industries.
* Relevant H&S qualifications (IOSH or CITB 5-Day Site Safety Management, CSCS card, First Aid training).
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
* Self-motivated with proactive work ethic.
