Nestled within the Wolverley countryside, Heathfield Knoll School enjoys an enviable reputation as the leading school in the Wyre Forest and the wider region.
Children join Heathfield Knoll Nursery at three months, moving on to Preschool at three years. The main school welcomes children at any age from five to 18 years.
The school is centred around a large country house in beautiful surroundings which includes extensive playing fields, woodland and grassland (a total of over 30 acres). Heathfield Knoll’s generous grounds are frequently used to support a creative curriculum, including Outdoor Learning and an outdoor classroom. Heathfield Knoll aims to provide a traditional, well-structured education in small, nurturing teaching groups. This means that children’s needs are catered for and they thrive in a well-ordered atmosphere of mutual respect. Heathfield Knoll is concerned with more than just academic achievements, we encourage children to approach adulthood as confident, articulate and courteous individuals.

* SEND Teaching Assistant – based in Connect (SEND Base)
* Learning Support Assistant – working with students across our Main School
Working pattern: Monday to Friday 8.30 am - 4.00 pm (part-time hours could be considered)
We are looking for dynamic teaching assistants to support:
* a small class of (secondary age) pupils with a range of special needs who are working at Key Stage 1/2;
* pupils across year groups in our main school
* students in the sixth form

Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or childcare setting. - Essential
Experience working 1:1 and in small groups to support learning. - Desirable
Understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). - Desirable
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above). - Essential
A willingness to pursue ongoing personal development training - Essential
Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice - Desirable
Knowledge of a range of Special Needs - Desirable
Experience working with pupils with SEND - Desirable
Experience working with secondary children working well below their chronological age - Desirable
Knowledge & Skills
A good understanding of a range of special educational needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, sensory processing difficulties). - Desirable
Ability to adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual pupil needs. - Desirable
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to engage with pupils, parents, and staff. - Desirable
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures. - Essential
Competence in using ICT to support learning. - Essential
Additional Factors
Ability to work as part of a team - Essential
Possess a level of general computer literacy with a range of IT skills - Desirable
Ability to demonstrate creative abilities - Desirable
Ability, flexibility and willingness to take on other responsibilities or duties as deemed necessary - Essential
