Gorseinon hospital is a 30 bedded community hospital, which is situated in a village surrounded by beautiful garden and fields, our hospital supports the residents of Swansea, and our patients mainly come from Morriston Hospital following an acute admission.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated HCSW with an interest in elderly care to join our team on West Ward Gorseinon Hospital. We specialise in elderly rehabilitation and enabling our patients is key to facilitate our 'home first' ethos. We have a committed team of Doctors, Nurse's Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Pharmacy staff who work in collaboration for the best outcomes for our patients.

Minimum of Qualification Credit Framework - QCF Level 2 (formally NVQ Level 2) in Health
Has the equivalent knowledge, skills and experience acquired through induction and on the job training and willing to complete QCF qualification within agreed timeframe
Knowledge and understanding of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales
fundamentals aspects of care and the importance of the promotion of health and wellbeing
the principles of confidentiality and the principles of consent prior to undertaking care and the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care
Understanding of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate registered professional for expert help and advice
Experience of working/caring in a health or social care environment
Able to communicate effectively with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team
Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Able to effectively and appropriately escalate concerns to reduce risk and promote patient safety
Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh
Ability to travel within geographical area
Able to participate in a rotating shift pattern over 7 days
