Job Description
Urgent requirement for an English Teacher to join a secondary school in Leicester with an immediate start. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and adaptable teacher ready to step into the classroom and make an immediate impact.
The school is seeking a confident practitioner to deliver English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring continuity of learning and strong classroom engagement from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver effective and engaging English lessons from the outset
Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
Quickly build rapport with students and establish clear expectations
Mark work and provide timely, constructive feedback
Maintain a focused and well-managed classroom environment
Follow school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and assessment
Work closely with department staff to ensure a smooth transition
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Degree in English or related subject
Recent experience teaching English in a secondary school
Strong classroom management and adaptability
Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision
Reliable, proactive, and committed to student progress
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
