Location and Salary
Full‑time hybrid role with flexibility on office location at Leeds, Bournemouth or Chelmsford. Must be within a 60‑minute commute of the nearest Allianz office. Pay: Circa £32,000, dependent on skills and experience.
Role Description
* Prevent, investigate and detect insurance claims fraud through proactive case portfolio management, providing business referral support and working with external bodies such as the Insurance Fraud Bureau and other law‑enforcement agencies.
* Decide on the retention of referrals from internal and external sources to the Claims Crime Prevention Teams, returning genuine claims urgently with constructive feedback.
* Compile mandatory intelligence searches and advanced ad‑hoc searches to aid decision on whether to retain or return a claim.
* Engage with other departments, support relationships and provide technical support.
* Carry out appropriate intel searches to ascertain if a claim is genuine or potentially fraudulent, working across all systems and databases.
* Understand different types of fraud scenarios and determine appropriate investigations.
* Effectively manage own development portfolio and implement investigative techniques, instruct suppliers to maximise fraud identification while minimising adverse impact on customer experience, financial spend and reputation.
* Capture and record concerns for claims deemed potentially fraudulent.
* Update and maintain the case‑management system database and fraud software applications.
* Identify potential linked and organised cases, and refer these to a senior level.
* Highlight specific fraud trends or companies to senior level.
* Ensure compliance with all internal, regulatory and statutory standards and controls.
* Liaise with law enforcement and industry bodies.
* Negotiate with policyholders and third parties to conclude settlement if appropriate.
* Manage litigation and ensure cases progress efficiently, referring to mentor or senior when required.
* Manage complaints and maintain contact with customers through the complaint procedure.
* Manage own self‑development and contribute to 1‑2‑1s, team discussions and continuous improvement programmes.
Essential Skills
* Understanding of Motor Claims Liability.
* Positive and proactive approach to the customer during investigation.
* Adherence to the Data Protection Act, including section 29 requests.
* Knowledge of claims and underwriting processes used across LV= Operations.
* Experience negotiating with solicitors.
* Basic understanding of principles of insurance, money laundering and POCA.
* Awareness of personal injury claims, MOJ/OIC process and required actions.
* Basic understanding of investigation principles.
* Understanding of Indemnity.
* Basic knowledge of credit hire principles and fee structure.
* Good communication skills both over the telephone and face to face.
* Basic understanding of insurance case law relating to fraud.
