SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD Support)
Inclusion Hub – Mainstream Primary School, Chelmsford
Full-Time Position
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Chelmsford, working within their Inclusion Hub.
This full-time role focuses on supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them to access learning and thrive within a structured and nurturing environment.
The Role:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD
* Work within the school’s Inclusion Hub, supporting tailored learning programmes
* Assist the class teacher and SENCO in delivering personalised learning plans
* Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development
* Support pupils in transitioning between the hub and mainstream classrooms where appropriate
Requirements:
* Experience working with SEN, particularly ASD, is highly desirable
* A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Understanding of inclusive practice within a mainstream setting
* Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
