Our stunning care home, Guiseley Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built 72-bed facility situated in the town of Guiseley in West Yorkshire, Leeds. The home provides the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care to residents with diverse needs, offering residential, nursing, and dementia care.
The home reflects the New Care vision of providing safety, comfort, and care, investing in the latest technology and offering daily activities and gentle exercises to enhance residents' wellbeing. All team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, with comprehensive induction and ongoing training from our in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. We have maintained a zero agency staff policy for over 4 years, employing a permanent team to ensure continuity of care from staff who know and residents trust. All staff are paid at least the national living wage.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Chef to join our team. The role involves working with the Head Chef to ensure high-quality food service that supports residents' needs and contributes positively to their living experience. The position offers a 40-hour contract at an hourly rate of £12.75, with shift times from 07:30 to 17:30, including alternate weekends.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Ensure menus are presented clearly for residents to understand and make daily choices.
2. Provide meals in sufficient quantities, considering dietary, ethnic, and personal preferences.
3. Prepare nutritionally balanced, attractively presented meals in a timely manner.
4. Follow and adhere to company HACCP standards, ensuring full compliance.
5. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and serving areas, adhering to infection control standards and the Food Standards Act 1999, with proper record-keeping.
6. Manage and supervise the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring quality service delivery.
7. Inspire and motivate the team to produce high-standard food.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Experience during busy meal periods, including breakfast and dinner service.
2. Experience working in a care home or similar setting.
3. Knowledge of specialized diets and service delivery.
4. Ability to contribute to and develop the four-week menu.
5. Ability to complete records demonstrating legal compliance.
