National Income Service Income Recovery Officer - 32301
Environment Agency is seeking two motivated National Income Service (NIS) Income Recovery Officers for up to 12‑month contracts. The role is part of the Environmental Markets & Regulation division and supports billing, debt management and revenue recovery across the organisation.
Responsibilities
* Engage customers through written and verbal contact to discuss outstanding payments and support income recovery objectives.
* Collect, interrogate and analyse data to identify trends, themes and insights and translate evidence into actionable steps.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers and drive continuous improvement.
* Respond to incidents and make yourself available to support incident recovery, if required.
Qualifications
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
* Experience in debt collections or customer service roles preferred; confidence in producing and analysing data to support work activities desirable.
* Strong focus on quality, performance and innovation – ability to deliver good quality outcomes and suggest new ideas.
* Resilient and able to flex plans to effectively manage a varied workload and prioritise tasks.
* Comfortable managing own workload as part of a dispersed team.
Eligibility & Benefits
Full‑time post, flexible hours or part‑time options available. Base location is flexible subject to local facilities agreement. Travel to other Environment Agency offices may occasionally be required.
