Overview
We are a small team looking for one or two individuals to join us. The White Monk Refectory, Blanchland is a vibrant, successful and popular destination eatery specialising in home cooked meals and cakes, all made in our on site bakery. Our customers are fantastic, around 80% are loyal regular visitors, they love what we do and enjoy visiting and chatting to us as much as the meals (and cakes!). This makes the job unique, creating a much more social environment than you would expect when customers are more of a passing trade.
The role covers all of the aspects we undertake, including table service, counter service, food preparation, general cleaning, hosting/talking with our customers and supporting colleagues. As with everyone in our team, we all have elements of the role we enjoy more; ideally you will naturally focus more upon the aspects of the job you enjoy in a way which compliments your colleagues. Some of our team prefer more kitchen based tasks and others like front of house roles, yet we are all able to step into each role when needed. You don\'t need to have previous experience, you just need to enjoy working within a team and speaking to customers, full training will be given and you will always be supported on shift by an owner or manager.

Hours, schedule and flexibility
We are closed Mondays and Tuesdays (except bank holidays) and open Wednesday to Sunday (10am to 4pm). Shifts are usually 9:30/10am to 4/4:30pm. As we are looking for more than one new team member, days/shifts are relatively flexible, however weekend working will be required. These positions are permanent and we will consider your preferred hours/days where possible to accommodate the whole team.
Qualifications and training
It is essential that you have access to transport. Blanchland is not supported by public transport. No previous experience is required; full training will be provided, and you will be supported on shift by an owner or manager.
