Fabrication Lead & Brake Press Operator

Position Overview:
The company is seeking a Fabrication Lead and Press Brake Operator to coordinate, monitor, and produce various components used in the manufacturing of industrial-grade equipment. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this role includes hands-on fabrication work as well as leadership responsibilities within the department. The position requires experience operating a Trumpf CNC press brake, along with general fabrication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program, operate, and perform routine maintenance on the Trumpf CNC Press Brake
2. Form sheet metal ranging in thickness from 0.050” to 0.375”
3. Monitor and organize parts through various fabrication work centers
4. Plan and execute tasks in a logical, efficient manufacturing sequence
5. Interpret blueprints and assist with layout work
6. Make dimensional adjustments to products as needed
7. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
8. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Supervisors to resolve issues and suggest improvements
9. Operate fabrication tools including angle grinders, tapping arms, shears, iron workers, and drill presses
10. Work with stainless steel, aluminum, and low carbon steel materials
11. Handle material deliveries and organize stock appropriately
12. Utilize forklifts, overhead cranes, and band saws as needed
13. Assist with general machine and facility maintenance
14. Comply with all safety and personnel policies
15. Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
16. Minimum 3 years' experience programming and operating press brakes
17. Minimum 3 years' experience in a general fabrication role
18. At least 1 year of experience in a lead or supervisory role
19. Understanding of shop math, metal properties, and machine tolerances
20. Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
21. Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally
22. High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills & Experience:
23. Familiarity with fiber laser cutting machinery
24. Welding experience or knowledge of welding processes
25. CAD software familiarity (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, eDrawings)
26. ERP system experience
27. Experience with HVLP paint systems
28. Background in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments
29. Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
