The project: The Systems Integration Lead is responsible for orchestrating the end to end integration of all systems required to support the Programme’s asset, operational, technical, digital, and infrastructure environments. This includes defining integration strategies, mapping system interfaces, coordinating requirements across disciplines, and ensuring that all digital, communications, operational technology, and infrastructure systems can operate as a coherent whole. The role brings together design, operational, technical, cybersecurity, supplier, and regulatory inputs through a structured and assured planning process to establish credible and aligned integration plans. Success will be measured through the development and maintenance of coherent, fully assured integration activities that support DCO timelines, enable early works ambitions, and operate in alignment with governance and assurance frameworks. While specific deliverables will evolve as the role matures, its core purpose is to ensure that systems, data, processes, and infrastructure are seamlessly integrated to enable safe, efficient, and reliable operations from day one
1. Lead systems integration strategy and planning across digital, operational and infrastructure systems.
2. Map interfaces and coordinate cross discipline system requirements.
3. Manage integration risks, dependencies, assurance and compliance activities.
4. Ensure cohesive sequencing of systems to support operational readiness.
5. Maintain assured, aligned system integration plans supporting DCO and early works milestones
You’ll be responsible for:
6. Managing the coordination and delivery of a major programme and oversees the implementation of programme strategies, provides strategic direction and monitors delivery in alignment with overall vision and objectives.
7. Defining and implementing an appropriate programme delivery environment including people, organisation, process, information and technology.
8. Determining and assembling the right project team with the right skills, experience, capabilities and technical competency, including any required external specialist appointments.
9. Improving performance from the bid baseline by optimizing resources and monitoring, reviewing and evaluating activities, systems and methodologies.
10. Acting as the public face of the programme to external stakeholders, chairing executive steering group meetings.
11. Directing and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, governance, risk, stakeholder management and programme compliance standards.
12. Overseeing the development and maintenance of programme documentation, including process and procedures, plans, reports, registers, and lessons learned.
13. Creating and nurtures a high-performing and inclusive team environment that encourages contribution and recognition.
14. Conveying and connecting the wider business strategy to the programme team and promoting the associated initiatives.
15. Ensuring operations are commercially and ethically viable, influencing the achievement of business objectives (including debt collection) and meeting organisational and legislative compliance obligations.
You’ll need to have:
16. Degree qualified in construction or engineering with professional membership.
17. Extensive experience integrating airport systems across design, procurement and construction stages.
18. Proven leadership delivering major infrastructure programmes through all lifecycle phases.
19. Strong sector expertise with ability to lead large teams and coordinate multiple system stakeholders.
