Join our friendly and dedicated team as a Medicines Assistant, with added variety through reception cover one day per week. This is a vital support role in a warm, caring nursing home environment where your work truly matters.
About the Role
As a Medicines Assistant, you'll help ensure residents receive the right medications at the right time by managing the safe and efficient handling of medication supplies. In addition, you'll support the home's front-of-house by covering reception duties one day per week, welcoming visitors and handling basic administrative tasks.
This is a non-clinical role that does not involve administering medication, but is essential to the smooth running of the home.
Key Responsibilities
* Order, receive, book in, and store medications safely and efficiently
* Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate medication records
* Liaise with GP surgeries and pharmacies to chase and track prescriptions
* Work closely with nurses, carers, GPs, and pharmacists
* Ensure compliance with all relevant procedures and CQC standards
* Cover the reception desk one day per week, including welcoming visitors, answering phones, and assisting with general admin
What We're Looking For
* Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
* Confident using IT systems, email, and digital medication records
* Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, responsible attitude
* Friendly and professional communication skills
* Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
* A caring, resident-focused approach
* Previous experience in a care setting is helpful but not essential
